Sidharth Malhotra: EK VILLAIN goes back and forth in time

The mystery around EK VILLAIN deepens. If it wasn't enough to wonder who was the real villain of the piece out of Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh (and now even Shraddha Kapoor), the introduction of Aamna Sharif as Riteish's wife in the film has only added to the suspense.
Now it has just been revealed that the film doesn't have a linear narrative and actually goes back and forth in time.
On being prodded about this aspect of the film, Sidharth relented. He said, 'Yes, we do go back and forth in time but I can't reveal more. All I can say is that there is a connection between the past and present and no one better than Mohit Suri could have brought it out so well on screen. He is a master story-teller and has made it all so simple to comprehend, yet keeping it intriguing enough to bring you on the edge of the seat.'
While the promos have already hinted on the suspense element, it is the promotion strategy adopted by Balaji which has kept the viewers engaged ever since the teaser went on air three months back.
'To shoot for EK VILLAIN was one experience for sure as I was promoting HASEE TOH PHASEE around the same time. Not only EK VILLAIN is an intense film but it required all the actors to be constantly on our toes due to its back and forth narrative. We had to be into our character on a shot-by-shot basis as there was a lot of emotional continuity that had to be taken forth during the entire narrative. No wonder, this is the toughest film I have done so far,' added Sidharth.
We look forward to the results of that once Mohit Suri's EK VILLAIN starring Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra & Shraddha Kapoor releases next Friday, 27th June, 2014.
