One actress who is indeed looking forward to a hat trick this year is Alia Bhatt. If it all started with a critically acclaimed performance in HIGHWAY which made her stocks go up as far as 'acting quotient' was concerned, there were some good commercial gains too with 2 STATES which brought the petite girl into the 100 crore club.
Now with an out and out mainstream outing like HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA which brings her back into the quintessential Dharma/Yash Raj territory, Alia is keeping her expectations well in check instead of blowing her own trumpet due to a fabulous winning run so far.
"That's because I believe that an actor is as good as a role," says Alia, "I am not trying to outdo either myself or anyone else because that becomes a race, which is very exhausting. I don't want to be a part of it. At times it may happen that people don’t like a film of mine as much as my last film, but then I can't really help. I can just continue to move on to my next film."
However, with HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA exuding good vibes, it is pretty much on the cards that the film would fetch a good start for herself.
"Positive response to a film and people appreciation is always welcome but at the end of the day it is more about whether my director is happy. When an Imitiaz (Ali) or Abhishek (Varman) is happy with my work, it makes me very happy and proud."
One hopes Shashank Khaitan, the debutant director of HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA has something similar to say as well, now that the film is inching towards its release next month.
