'I was in Germany when Axel came to me and said that he wanted to shoot for the entire film. I asked him that what are the kind of films he likes to shoot. Alex said that Hollywood films inspire him big time. Just to test him further and pull his leg a little, I told him that I wanted a French presentation instead for DISHKIYAOON. I could sense his disappointment on the phone itself though he did bring himself up to saying that he could shoot like a French film too, if this is what I wanted. I just asked him to relax and informed him that he was on board,' recollects Sanamjit.
The film took some time to reach the finishing line, but Axel stood behind the film as a rock and ensured that each and every shot was captured to perfection.
'I guess bringing in Axel has been one of my best decisions during DISHKIYAOON,'says Sanamjit,'He has been like a dream. See, I wanted a foreign eye to come in India and shoot my film. No offence meant to the Indian D.O.Ps, but then they have already shot so much in the city that there isn't anything new to explore for them. I wanted someone who could watch my film with a new eye. The way Axel has framed every shot and lit it up, I am sure the film wouldn't have looked the same without him.'
We would like to see the final results on screen once this Sunil Lulla and Shilpa Shetty production releases all over on 28th March, 2014.
