Delhi girl Ayesha Khanna has dressed up many a leading lady in Bollywood in the most glamorous of outfits. However when it came to selecting an attire for herself for her debut film as an actress, she was a conscious lot. Meet the leading lady of DISHKIYAOON who certainly knows where to draw a line.
What is a pretty girl like you doing in a gangster flick?
Ask me (smiles). And to think of it, I am not even fond of gangster movies. I am more into love stories. It was just a 'luck by chance' moment. My director Sanamjit (Talwar) just casually asked me if I could pick up this role and for many months, I said no to it. I don't know acting and just wanted to handle the costumes of DISHKIYAOON.
With Harman Baweja making a comeback and Sunny Deol bringing in star power, isn't it obvious that men would hold center-stage?
Well, though I am not a gangster in the film, I play an important part as the only love angle. Among these ten odd gangsters around, I am the only girl. In fact Harman's story is linked to me and that further connects with the whole story. Moreover, all my scenes are with Harman so yes, I am present there. Having said that, to be honest, keeping my background in mind even this is enough for my first film (smiles).
Considering the fact that you come from a glamour background, did you think of going all the way in order to make your appearance in the film further count?
As far as styling for me goes, my parents have set a certain rule and I am fine with it. I definitely can't wear a bikini as that would give my dad a heart attack. In fact at the start they said no to me even doing the film as an actress. Also, as far as intimate scenes are concerned, the maximum what I have done is a single kiss with Harman. That's my limit and I am going to stick to this stand.
