Saqib Saleem is a content young man. After playing a grown up kid himself in MERE DAD KI MARUTI and MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAROGE, he was entrusted with the responsibility of playing a skating coach to kids in HAWAA HAWAAI. Even as appreciation continues to flow in, Saqib is looking back at the entire experience with fond memories.
Smiles Saqib, 'Guess what, earlier I used to feel that I won't be able to cope up with kids but all such delusions have been cleared now. They opened up to me so much that today, I can easily baby sit 20 kids and still have no problem at all. I made sure to give that little extra to them. See, I talk a lot to myself and during the making of HAWAA HAWAAI, I said - 'Saqib, if these kids don't like you on the sets then this film would not turn out to be good, since it will show on everyone's face'. I had to make sure that they trusted me.'
Now that he has won the trust of audience as well as filmmakers alike, how is he looking at planning his innings ahead in Bollywood? One expects that he is much more prolific as ever before, especially after MERE DAD KI MARUTI fetched him much recognition early last year.
'For me, it's quality over quantity. I come from a very humble family in Delhi and though I am happy, I am not content. I am sure that this hunger will take me somewhere someday for sure. Thankfully I made my debut at the age of 22 so I have lot of time in hand. It is unlike others who are making their debut at the age of 28. I am in no hurry and I am sure that I won't work in a film till the script is good. In any case, I am not going anywhere. I am here to stay,' says Saqib in a confident tone.
