After not so good films like BULLET RAJA and HUMSHAKALS, Saif Ali Khan is back to what he does best – the rom-com! Saif is gearing up for his next film HAPPY ENDING which releases next week.
While HAPPY ENDING is Saif's second collaboration with the directors Raj & DK, with whom he earlier worked in GO GOA GONE, we quiz the Nawab about what restricted him to work with Farhan Akhtar, Vishal Bharadwaj or Shah Rukh Khan again with whom he has given hits like DIL CHAHTA HAI, OMKARA and KAL HO NAA HO respectively.
“To collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan would mean playing a small role in a big film of his. I would rather play a main role in an illuminati film. Usually, it would mean that. I don't think I would get a role like KAL HO NAA HO. That was almost my movie and so that won't happen. Actors want to play main role and want to be spoilt. And it took me lot of work to come out of playing second lead, so I don't want to go back to it,” admits Saif.

And what about working with Vishal Bharadwaj and Farhan Akhtar? “Well, if I have to work with Vishal, then he has to write something that will take us beyond OMKARA. People will compare us with the last one. It doesn't have to better but has to be good and something different. We keep talking and he is a wonderful director,” reveals Khan, adding further, “And with Farhan again, I played some third lead which became a very popular role. Now if Farhan has a role for me, it will happen. I am in talks with Excel Entertainment for a film but Reema Kagti's directing it, not Farhan. I would love to work with him sometime. May be the kind of films he is making, were more suited to others.”
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan's HAPPY ENDING which also stars Ileana D'Cruz, Govinda, Kalki Koechlin and Ranveer Shorey, is all set to release on November 21, 2014.
