After entertaining the audience with his rom-coms like TOTAL SIYAPAA and MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, Ali Zafar is back on the big screen with Shaad Ali's KILL DIL.

Ask him what made him accept a film like KILL DIL and he reveals, “Script, Casting, Director and Banner drew me to the film, particularly, my role in the film. If given a choice, I would have selected this role in the film, hands down. It gave me that room and space to show others what I can do other than romance and comedy.”

He justifies further, “I was excited to do action in KILL DIL because I wanted to do something different and that is not because I was tired and bored of doing rom-coms, but for the very reason that I want to be a versatile actor. I want to try different things, experiment with my roles and do good alternative, new age cool cinema. In that aspect, this film came by and it was amazing.”

While Ali is known for his lover boy roles, in KILL DIL he would be seen doing some serious action with Ranveer Singh and Govinda. Quiz him about the entire experience of shooting an action film and Ali explains, “I had most fun while doing action. I was dying to see myself in this avatar – kicking people, firing a gun and just get dirty with things. Also, not having to shave for a year was cool.”

Interestingly, this is the second time Ali is collaborating with Yash Raj Films, the first one being for MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN. “It is a great experience coming back to Yash Raj Films. The way you are treated here, it is extremely great. In fact, even after MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, I used to speak to Mr. Aditya Chopra and take advice on the kind of films I should do. So we were in constant touch. And I hope this relationship and bond becomes stronger,” admits Zafar.

That Ranveer and Parineeti both were excited to work with Govinda was known to all and hence we quizzed Ali what was it like for him to work with Govinda? “I was keen on dancing with Govinda, who is one of the finest dancers in the World. Just the way he dances, he makes it look so much fun. So I was looking forward to dancing with him, sharing the same frame with him etc. What a memorable experience it has been,” concludes Ali.

Directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Yash Raj Films, KILL DIL which also stars Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Govinda, is all set to release on November 14, 2014.
