Govinda, who has entertained us for decades, is ready to spring his way back into the hearts of the audience with his two back-to-back releases, Shaad Ali's KILL DIL and Raj & DK's HAPPY ENDING.
While the actor seems to be quite excited about it, there are also reports of him stepping out of Dharma Productions' SHAANDAR, where he was said to portray the character of Alia Bhatt's father. Probe him about it and he reveals, “I had agreed to do SHAANDAR. The makers had promised to tell me the story of the film, but they couldn't as they were busy. And then 15 days before the film was going on-floors, the makers said that they will tell me the story on the sets to which I disagreed. I don't work like that. Though I loved the entire team of SHAANDAR, but since I wasn't aware about the story I had to back out.”

Not just SHAANDAR, but Govinda was also offered the role of Ranbir Kapoor's father in Anurag Basu's JAGGA JASOOS. Ask him why did he reject that and he says, “Well I am not doing JAGGA JASOOS because I am doing ABHINAY CHAKRA, my home production film, where in I play a lead hero. So I cannot do a father's role. If I was doing those roles then it was fine, but if I am not doing then why are you offering me that kind of a film?”
He adds further on a concluding note, “If offered, I will do the role of a father but it should be nice.”
Well, point taken Chi Chi!
