The late 80s and 90s audience, who have been brought up on a slew of hits, like DIL, BETA, RAJA, ISHQ will remember the director of the mentioned blockbusters, Indra Kumar, as someone who used to make films which were loaded with family drama, emotion, romance and not to forget subtle comedy.

However the failure of MANN (more due to its heavy selling price), AASHIQ etc. made the director change tracks and come up with pure cheeky comic projects via the highly successful DHAMAAL and MASTI series. In fact many of the present generation may not even be aware about how Indra Kumar used to touch the emotional chords and succeeded in making the audience teary eyed, repeatedly.
Cut to the present, we were pleasantly surprised (and delighted as well!) when Sharman Joshi, the lead actor of Indra Kumar's upcoming Friday release, SUPER NANI, told us that ‘it'll be the Indra Kumar of DIL and BETA days in SUPER NANI'. And the promos are a testimony to the fact the Sharman was on the money.
CHECK OUT: 'SUPER NANI' Rekha's multi-avatars!
The best decision by Indra was to cast the perennially beautiful and the still in form Rekha in the title role. Despite the general feeling in the industry that Rekha is a troublesome actress, on the contrary a tongue-in-cheek Indra Kumar feels that the case was opposite, and adds that it was he who troubled Rekha with all the reshoots and gives the actress credit for all the cooperation during the same.
Well, despite the fact that SUPER NANI will have to contend with the still hot, week old HAPPY NEW YEAR, the sincerity, confidence and dedication of the team is likely to work for SUPER NANI, and mark the comeback of the emotion jagoing champ, director Indra Kumar.
