Priyanka Chopra’s MARY KOM
has been declared tax free in UP and Maharashtra. It’s perhaps the first Bollywood film which has been made tax- free before its release.
Omung Kumar, who is making his directorial debut with the movie said, “Yes it has been made tax-free in Maharashtra and UP. However, I am not sure whether it is the first film to be announced as tax-free even before its release.”
When asked whether it would be made tax-free in other states as well, Omung said, 'It depends on state to state. Ask Omung if it would impact MARY KOM’s business and he says, 'It will become a profitable venture for everyone. The producers will earn more. The film will earn more because of the tax-free aspect. Moreover, it is not about commercial thing. It is to reach out the film to maximum people.”
MARY KOM is all set to release on 5th September.
