While everyone’s eager to watch out Tabu’s performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film HAIDER starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Kay Kay Menon, the actress is set to surprise us with her voice too! Well, Tabu has sung a traditional Kashmiri folk song ‘Roshe Valle’ in the film, although, it’s not the regular track. It’s a part of a scene in the film where Tabu croons it for Kay Kay.

“It’s a Kashmiri folk song. We couldn’t use the playback singer for it as it’s not the proper, casual song. It’s basically a scene in the film where Kay Kay is listening to my song and dancing to it,” says the actress.

Vishal was very keen to have Tabu as singer.

“Vishal thinks it’s great. So, I believe in him. But I too like to sing and I really enjoyed. We had a person on the sets to get our Kashmiri diction perfect,” adds Tabu.

Set in Kashmir, HAIDER, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by UTV Motion Pictures. The film is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2014.
