“Yes, I think I just got the best lines and part in the film. I was playing the title role of Fanny and it wasn't some random role that people would forget,” says Anjali.
While the movie boasted of a great star cast, one wonders if Anjali was insecured at any point and she reveals, “No, I don't think skepticism will work me in the longer run. I went on with my intuition and gut. My decisions aren't governed with the publicity I will get. It is always about acting and enjoying my work. It is the reflection of my life. Also, I wasn't part of the promotions because my identity had to be kept under wraps. But that doesn't mean that I had the fear of not getting noticed. I was sure that people can't help but see me in the film.”
Now that the film has been lauded both critically and commercially, ask her how has been the experience of working in the film and she admits, “It was great. Look at the reviews and everything. I am very happy. Also looking at Homi's previous work, I was pretty excited to work with him and it was amazing to play this dream girl of Naseeruddin Shah.”
