When we first saw the trailer of BANGISTAN, we were little in disbelief of accepting the jodi of two contrasting actors like Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat. But as the duo began to promote their satirical film, their chemistry became evident and it gradually made us believe that this combo can work.

When we got in touch with the maker of BANGISTAN Karan Anshuman and asked him of having an unusual casting, he elaborated, “Riteish was obvious choice for the film because we needed a good actor who can do comedy at the same time. Also, he is going beyond the tyepacsting that he got into earlier. Especially with EK VILLAIN, I think he did wonderful job. It all excited me to have him because I have not met a better actor than him. His comedy is so good. He is such a good human being and a pleasure to work with. Also, BANGISTAN was an interesting chance for him and it gave him a platform to explore a whole new side to comedy. There is no slapstick or physical comedy. He is not the one who is providing jokes. It's a situational thing where everything is happening around him and he is simply reacting to it.”

He added, “Ritesih in real is also energetic, funny, bubbly and outspoken but in the film he is playing a character who doesn't speak much, who is introverted, straight-faced and serious. On the other hand I wanted someone opposite to Riteish in the film. And Pulkit, who is normally not very outspoken, is little bit of introvert, shy. He doesn't talk or flaunt or act like big star or actor and tries to keep a low profile. But in the film he is playing totally different character, who is a fireball and very hotheaded. There is not a single frame where he is standing still, he is always fidgeting.”

“Since Riteish is an experienced actor, I thought of having a new face and see a combination that sort of worked for the film,” added the debutant filmmaker.

Also starring Jacqueline Fernandez in a brief role, BANGISTAN is all set to hit the screens on August 7, 2015.
