We are all gearing to see the big clash at the Box Office on December 18th with DILWALE and BAJIRAO MASTANI releasing together. While Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained that audiences would go and watch both these films, it seems like King Khan eventually made an apparent demarcation between the two films.

While Shah Rukh Khan recently at the DILWALE event said that audiences will take time out to watch both DILWALE and BAJIRAO MASTANI, he didn't shy away from saying that BAJIRAO MASTANI is niche as a genre and DILWALE is a happy-go-lucky film.

When we asked Deepika Padukone if she agreed with what SRK said, Deepika replied, “I agree with the first part of his comment that the audiences will take time to watch both the films, because I'm 100% sure that I'll watch both the films as an audience. While on one hand, one is trying to create controversy about the fact that two films are releasing at the same time, I'm someone who looks at it the other way and feel wow because as an audience I get to watch two films that are so unique.”

However, disagreeing on the second half of SRK's statement, Deepika Padukone said, “But I wouldn't call BAJIRAO MASTANI niche at all. In fact, I think one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's strengths is he has his way of storytelling. Be it HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM, DEVDAS or GOLIYON KI RASLEELA: RAM LEELA, BLACK, he still makes it globally appealing.”

“I don't know what Shah Rukh Khan means when he says BAJIRAO MASTANI is niche, but what I can definitely say is that they are two different kinds of films. I've worked with both directors and I know that what both of them have to offer are really different. Even as an audience, when you watch both the films, you won't be able to compare the two because you can't. DILWALE is comedy, action, romance and BAJIRAO MASTANI is a different kind of film,” said Deepika on a concluding note.
