Bollywood's yesteryear actress Sadhana Shivdasani breathed her last this morning at her home, as per the reports. It is being said that the 74-year old actress was admitted to the hospital earlier. She was detected with a tumor and had been battling cancer for a very long time. Reportedly, the cremation will take place on Saturday from her Santacruz residence
Sadhana was part of some successful films like WAQT, MERA SAAYA, PARAKH, HUM DONO, MERE MEHBOOB, WHO KAUN THI, LOVE IN SHIMLA and many others. She even did a cameo in Raj Kapoor's SHREE 420. But more than her films, Sadhana was popular for her fringe hair cut which became such a rage that eventually it was named as 'Sadhana cut'. It is held that she even started the trend of tight churidar kurtas, first time featured in Yash Chopra's WAQT and made it popular with the help of fashion designer Bhanu Athaiya.
Sadhana married director Ram Krishan Nayyar on March 7, 1966. They were married for almost 30 years when the director died in 1995. Sadhana retired from movies after 1974 and GEETA MERA NAAM was her last film.
