According to an official statement from MSM Motion Pictures (A division of Sony Entertainment Network), the Delhi High Court has restrained the distribution and exhibition of the trailer of the film titled BADMASHIYAAN.
“The Delhi High Court has restrained the distribution and exhibition of the trailer and the film titled BADMASHIYAAN, on the basis of a claim for copyright infringement by MSM and Kaleidoscope. The plaintiffs claimed that BADMASHIYAAN is a copy of the Korean film COUPLES and their yet to be released film, MANGO. The plaintiffs also claimed this relief based on an exclusive right that they obtained from the Producer of COUPLES to make the Hindi language remake of COUPLES,” the official statement read.
Glamsham.com got in touch with the official spokesperson of BADMASHIYAAN, who denied receiving any notice or court order. “We have not received any notice or court order on BADMASHIYAN from anyone. We have been promoting our film since a month and it looks like some people are trying to use the name of our film for their publicity,” said the spokesperson.
BADMASHIYAAN is produced by Vijay Gutte, co-produced by Baahul and Anurag Shrivastav, under the banner of VRG motion pictures. Directed by Amit Khanna and starring Gunjan Malhotra, Karan Mehra, Sidhanth Gupta, Suzzana Mukherjee and Sharib Hashmi, it is slated for a 27th February 2015 release.
