Amitabh Bachchan was at his wittiest best at the trailer launch of his upcoming film SHAMITABH. Not only did he amused everyone with his clever answers, but also spoke about his film and told us how did he prepare for his role.
“It is Balki sahab's habit, in every 1-2 years, he comes up with such scripts. When, I have to first ask him, what have you had and come or what have you smoked because his scripts are wonderful. When I heard the script of SHAMITABH I was just as amazed as I was when I heard CHEENI KUM & PAA. But, the outline of the film comes from Balki sahab's mind. He said he wants a particular look; he show some photos for reference, called makeup artist from abroad, my makeup artist Deepak Sahu, they all got together and make my beard, mustache & hair.”

He further added, “When you'll see the film you'll understand why am I saying this; first Balki & I recorded the entire script of SHAMITABH. I have recorded all the dialogues in my voice. After that, when we began to shoot, the recording use to play and the scene would go ahead. Then, when the film was made, we recorded it again. So, a lot of efforts have gone in this. And that's why I believe this is a very intense film for me, I had to work very hard for this. But, Balki told me to do as he says. The film was in his mind, not mine and when we recorded the entire film, we would play it while shooting for the film and according to that, the performances took place. And after the performances, we did the dubbing again because we had to fill in the minute details which were left. So because of this, it is a very different film for me, I have never done this before and the credit for this goes to Balki.”
SHAMITABH also stars Dhanush and marks Akshara Haasan debut in Bollywood. Produced by R K Damani, Rakesh Jhunjhunwaala, Sunil Lulla Abhishek Bachchan & Gauri Shinde, the film is set to release on 6th February, 2015.
