Model-turned-actor Akanksha Puri embarked her filmy journey with Tollywood and now stepping her foot in Bollywood with Madhur Bhandarkar's CALENDAR GIRLS.
Akanksha feels Madhur, being the pioneer and flag-bearer of women centric films (like CHANDNI BAR, PAGE 3, FASHION, HEROINE and others), has a great understanding of women's ‘psyche'.
Akanksha, who has worked with Madhur, says, “I am quite surprised to come across a man, who truly understands the whole psyche of women. And that's the reason he is able to make this kind of cinema so well. He exactly knows how the women folks would react to a particular point or how they will behave in a particular situation and that's what also shows in his films as well.”
She further shares her experience working with the master filmmaker.

“More than a director, Madhur has always been a very good friend and family to all of us. We are very free to talk to him and comfortable. He is so clear of what he wants and that makes easy for us also. He has the habit of changing reactions and does not stick to the script by word. He has the ability to change the scenes or reactions (of the actors) as per his understanding,” says the newbie.
Besides Akanksha Puri, Madhur also introduces four new faces Ruhi Singh, Avani Modi, Kyra Dutt, Satarupa Pyne with CALENDAR GIRLS.
