The ‘hat ke' music and promos of the topical UVAA are making a mark with the target audience and the film has the capability of turning out to be a dark horse. The lead actor, Vikrant Rai, is already a known face, thanks to his highly popular television serials like ‘Kkaavyanjali', ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan' and ‘Maika'.

When we caught up with Vikrant, he revealed that he belongs to an army family. “Yes, my father is from the armed forces and so a sense of discipline was already there in me. Since my father was in a transferable job, after auditioning for KKAAVYAJALI we changed residence. But thankfully when finally Balaji caught up with me after three months, it was a huge relief for me and I was convinced that somebody out there wants to help me.”
We queried Vikrant about reuniting with his KKAAVYANJALI director Jasbir B Bhaati and all the praise that the director showered on him and to that he disclosed, “I am not from a filmy background family and so there was no tailor made launch for me. But I am grateful to Bhaati ji, who was like a pillar of support for me. In a way, I can say that he was my godfather.”

Talking about the film, Vikrant added, “As you already know its about five friends in school. Though it is not the case with me in real life as I have passed that stage 11-12 years back. I not only worked on my physique but also tried to think and perform like how five care a damn youngsters would feel and act today. I have put a lot into this character both physically and mentally. I am the leader of the ‘shararti' (mischievous) pack who are in a government school but due to their pranks they are kicked out and forced to take admission in an English/public school. And then the usual biases about not being able to speak English etc. However all that becomes immaterial once we get sucked into a situation where we try to help a rape victim and how things unfold. Must add that not only am I getting very positive feedbacks about the song teasers but also the promos. And so I am very confident that UVAA will make a mark and get its share of success for sure.”

Well, we too wish the same as we await for UVAA which hits the screens on June 26.
