Time and again there have been speculations as to who would play Sangeeta Bijlani in Anthony D'Souza's biopic on former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin. From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Prachi Desai to Jacqueline Fernandez to Kriti Sanon, several names cropped up for playing the part.
Recently, reports were rife that Nargis Fakhri (ROCKSTAR, MAIN TERA HERO fame) is going to be playing the much talked about role. To our inquisitiveness, when we contacted filmmaker Anthony, he plainly denied it and was amused about such rumours floating around.
He said in an amused tone, “These are all plain rumours. If the role demands we might even cast her. But as of now nothing has been finalized yet. We are still in the scripting stage. The film will hit the floors in August.”
When we further probed him about finalizing the cast, Anthony said, “Probably by the end of this month you will get to know about the cast.”
Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi, who is essaying the role of Azharuddin in the biopic, is already taking cricket lessons.
However, quiz Anthony about Emraan's look in the film and he says, “The film is at premature stage. It's way too ahead commenting about the look of the stars.”
The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures.
