We all have seen the Bollywood industry evolve in every way. With time, the actresses have got equal importance & screen space in movies. Not only that, the year 2014 broke the stereotype about women-centric films not performing well at the box office.
Many actresses took risks; be it Kangana Ranaut doing a QUEEN, Anushka Sharma doing a NH10 or Priyanka Chopra doing a MARY KOM. When asked Deepika if Bollywood's outlook towards heroines has changed with the course of time, she said, “Definitely. And I think it's a very exciting time for the movies right now. Like I mentioned earlier, in terms of the scripts that are being written, the kind of risks that the director are taking or the kind of paths that the women are being offered, at least for me, I can say that it is a very exciting time for me in my career.”
