All the new releases of the week, CHARLIE KAY CHAKKAR MEIN, YAARA SILLY SILLY, RANBANKA, FOUR PILLARS OF BASEMENT etc were by-and-large ignored by the audience (predictably & expectedly), as the cinema frequenting junta, who are holding on to their purse strings for the Diwali bonanza, PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO, kept way from the theatres!

Coming to the last week releases, it was the Randeep-Adil starrer, MAIN AUR CHARLES, which put up a spirited performance, despite the dull pre-Diwali days, netting 5-6 crore in the opening week from India. The other notable contributions (if one may say so!), came from Kunal Khemu's GUDDU KI GUN and Yash Raj Films' TITLI, though unfortunately both were below the 2 crore mark for the week gone by.

Concluding with Vikas Bahl's Shahid-Alia starrer, SHAANDAAR, the film saw rock bottom collections during its latest outing (3 crore) thus netting 40 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India, and is a box-office debacle, given the high involved (60-61 crore) release cost.
