From a miniscule (but impactful) role in Aamir Khan starrer 3 IDIOTS to playing the lead hero in KHAMOSIYAN & BOBBY JASOOS, Ali Fazal has come a long way. He was even seen in a special appearance in the famous Hollywood flick FAST AND FURIOUS 7. Post that Ali has entered into a different league and now concentrating on commercial ventures like HAPPY BHAAG JAYEGI, LOVE AFFAIR, etc.

The actor is gearing up for the upcoming web series film BANG BAAJA BAARAAT that will be out on November 4. Probe him if he was okay doing the web series at this stage, considering the way he is progressing now, and Ali says, “Actually, to be honest this was my first question to Anand Tiwari (director of the series) himself. I said I am right now doing Anand L. Rai's film HAPPY BHAAG JAYEGI, which is totally commercial. I am playing the lead in it, which is a rom-com. Then, Pooja Bhatt's film LOVE AFFAIR will also start. But he was like someone somewhere has to break that mould. Before even giving me the story, Anand sat me down and asked if I was interested into something like this. So, I said let me read the script. I heard the script and I feel BANG BAAJA BAARAAT is still as commercial as any other film.”

“Then of course, when I got to know that Yash Raj is on board, it was a cherry on a cake. Because of Yash Raj, it kind of gave me more confidence. Yash Raj has always done things very nicely, in a grand style and even the way they have shot BANG BAAJA BAARAAT is as good as any other YRF product. I don't doubt their quality. I think the medium is different and that is something I wanted to experiment with. Adi sir was very happy to take me on board…So it's nothing I should feel bad or confused about. It's just an experiment and great to test the waters sometimes. If I went and did a film like FAST AND FURIOUS, why should be I scared of this?” adds Ali.

Further giving a gist of BANG BAAJA BAARAAT, Ali says on a parting note, “It's not exactly an anti-love story. In fact, it arrives at a love story. When you will see the entire movie, you will understand the entire different approach to a love story. Usually love story ends at the marriage, but here the love story starts at the marriage.”
