Megastar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 73rd birthday yesterday and we're sure he must have received a lot of gifts & wishes from fans all over the world! But for Big B, the love and affection of his fans, family and well-wishers is much more as compared to all the materialistic gifts.

Big B said, “No amount of material gift can replace love and affection of family members and well-wishers. I have always believed in that. Materialistically I can't say it isn't important. Yes, people show their affection and I accept that with a lot of grace and humility, but yes, the love and affection is much greater than any material gift.”

When asked Big B about the wishes he has received from the fans and film fraternity, he said, “They have expressed their love and affection and I don't think there's anything greater and bigger than that.”

Further ask the megastar if there has been any gift that is special for him and he said, “I will accept the material gift if someone gives me, but people's love & affection is much greater than that.”

He then added, “When we were little kids, the gifts were of utmost importance, but that was in childhood, not now.”

Abhishek had once said that Big B loves barfi cake. When asked Big B if he had the cake he said, “I have stopped eating cake.”

When asked Big B if there's a child hidden in him and does he somewhere still feel like cutting his birthday cake, he said, “With age we all mature and realized that all these formal moments that are associated with birthdays, you tend to overlook them now. It is just another day and I'm fortunate to be with friends and family.

Further telling us about his birthday just being an ordinary day for him, he said, “For me it's just another day. Previously I used to make sure that I work on my birthday, but now my family wants to spend more time with me. In any case, the whole day I'm out of the house very early, come back very late so they never get an opportunity to be with me. I stopped that practice now and I spend time with the family. It's just another day; I don't look upon it as some kind of a formal occasion.”

When we are 73, we hope we are half as fit and active as you are Big B!
