It was just yesterday that we told you about Sooraj Pancholi's take on stars kids debuting in Bollywood was and as promised, here is what his HERO co-star Athiya Shetty has to say about it. Though they have similar thoughts on the topic, Athiya has something more to say…
When posed with the question, Athiya says, “You know everybody always criticizes us and even if we make a small mistake, people blow it out of proportion and say, ‘She should know better, she's an actor's daughter'. But we're learning as well.”
And when Athiya said this, we just couldn't agree any more. “When your parent is in a certain profession, for example a doctor, he always wants his son or daughter to be a doctor, and an engineer would also want the same. So why not an actor's child becoming an actor?” she said.
Further telling us about how no name or mentor can help take things forward in one's career, she said, “I feel you're given a platform and given that first exposure, but then I don't think any name or mentor or anything can take you forward besides the fact that you need to be extremely hardworking & talented.”

Athiya Shetty also knows that the audiences aren't fools and they too have a taste for good cinema & performances. Athiya says, “Your masses & audiences aren't stupid. I think you need to have that quality in you to sustain the audience and that will take you forward and only that will give you your second, third & fourth film.”
We're pleased to know Athiya Shetty understands the audiences so well. And we agree when she says that people are a little harsh towards the star kids. They're new in the industry and they stand an equal chance to prove their talent. We hope people now understand and don't judge the newbies too soon.
