Although Anees Bazmee's Anil, John, Naseer, Nana, Paresh and Shruti starrer, WELCOME BACK, the sequel to the highly successful, WELCOME, did not appear to be high on hype, it surprised all and sundry with its inspired run.

As per the stats WELCOME BACK, which saw a 14 crore first day, picked up to 17 crore on Saturday and Sunday saw an even higher 20 crore, translating into a 51 crore (to be validated) opening weekend.

The interesting thing is that the film is being patronised, not only by the core audience of escapist comedies but surprisingly by the families too. In fact, WELCOME BACK is following the trend of director Anees Bazmee's NO ENTRY, which appeared low on hype, but went from strength-to-strength as the days progressed.

As things stand, WELCOME BACK is sure to cross the 100 crore mark from India.
