The new release of the week, the Nikhil Advani directed Imran-Kangana starrer, KATTI BATTI, started on an ordinary note with the collections hovering in the 20-25 percent mark. The film was comparatively better in Mumbai and Gujarat area with North being the weak link, (barring some Delhi-NCR multiplexes).

With a window of just one week for any new release KATTI BATTI has to improve drastically over the weekend for any chance of success.
The other prominent release, Zeishan Quadri's MEERUTHIYA GANGSTERS saw a so-so start with the mass areas in the hinterland being comparatively better. The makers though are quite hopeful of a WASSEYPUR like turnaround!

The last release of the week, Baba Ram Rahim's MSG-2 THE MESSENGER saw a fair start, but only in a few pockets of North India. Unfortunately, the film does not hold much hope commercially.
Meanwhile, last week Nikhil Advani directed Sooraj-Athiya starrer, HERO, couldn't build on a decent 21 crore weekend, ending the first week netting 30-31 crore. With the eighth day being quite weak, HERO does not seem to be the perfect dream launch for the two star kids.
