After doing small projects like JO HUM CHAHEIN, KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI in Bollywood and being part of Punjabi movies like BEST OF LUCK, MUNDEYAN TON BACHKE RAHIN, Simran Kaur Mundi is now all geared up for her first big commercial venture KIS KISKO PYAAR KARU. Simran plays Kapil Sharma's wife in this Abbas-Mustan directed film.
Interestingly, her character's name is also ‘Simran'. While stand-up comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma, who is quite a fan of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and has often showed his fondness for him, plays the character of ‘SRK' in the upcoming film KIS KISKO PYAAR KARU.
“Yes Kapil Sharma's character's name is SRK (Shiv Ram Kishan) and I play Simran, one of his wives in the film. And why he is named as SRK in the film is something you will know and understand once you watch the film. Moreover, all the four women in the film (out of which three are his wives and one is girlfriend) are named after Shah Rukh Khan's heroines - Juhi, Simran, Anjali and Deepika,” reveals Simran.
But quiz Simran if the film takes a jibe at Shah Rukh Khan and his leading ladies and she refuses to divulge anything further, “For that you will have to watch the movie.”

Besides, Simran clears that there is no connection with Kajol's character from DDLJ. “No it's nothing like ‘Simran' from DDLJ. It's just that our director and writer had come up with a thought. It's nowhere inspired from Kajol's character,” she says and adds about her and Kapil's role, “I am playing a model who gets married to Kapil, who then goes on to marry two more women and later has a girlfriend too. Kapil's life is practically divided between four women. He is caught between all of them.”
However, probe Simran if Kapil (who plays SRK) would be seen wooing and romancing like Shah Rukh (or even doing the signature pose of Shah Rukh Khan - spreading arms) and she gushes, “It has nothing to do with Shah Rukh or his signature pose. Kapil did nothing of that sort.”
But Simran goes on to add how Kapil reminded her of Shah Rukh. “Well, when we were shooting a love song called ‘Samandar' from the film, I did feel a little glimpse of Shah Rukh in Kapil. Because romance and Shah Rukh go hand-in-hand! But it wasn't like he was trying to be Shah Rukh. Anybody who does very good romance, you automatically start addressing it as ‘Shah Rukh Khan type of romance'. Kapil has done a very good job in the song ‘Samandar', which will release soon. You will get to see Kapil's romantic side for the first time in the song and all of us romancing him,” she signs off.
