This week's premier release, R. Balki's Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor starrer, KI & KA, failed to impress the audience and proved our apprehensions about the film's opening right. As per the initial reports, KI & KA embarked on a 15-20 percent start, which for a project of this magnitude is quite ordinary.
The film did see an improvement during the latter shows, but given the fact that it was not a big pick up, plus the not so positive feedback from the audience, KI & KA is on a tough terrain. Having said that, the first day is expected to be in the 6-7 crore band.
Meanwhile, last week's Nishikant Kamat directed John Abraham starrer, ROCKY HANDSOME, has been rejected by the audience, despite good production values. During the first week, ROCKY HANDSOME netted a below par 22-23 crore from India which, due to the 40 crore plus cost (all inclusive), spells dooms for the commercial outcome of the film, barring a miracle.
