Bollywood's poster boy of patriotism, Akshay Kumar is at it again!
While shooting for his upcoming romantic murder mystery RUSTOM in Delhi, Akshay Kumar visited the room where India's great freedom fighter - Lokmanya Tilak lived as a student.
Akshay has proudly earned the tag of Bollywood's new age poster boy of patriotism, once earned by this year's Dada Saheb Phalke awardee Manoj Kumar. Akshay is loving it, is completely indulged in the feeling and is unwilling to come out from it.
His upcoming RUSTOM though releasing on the big Independence day week – 12 August 2016, but it's a romantic murder mystery and has nothing to do with patriotism, but Akshay Kumar's love for mother India made Akshay to shoot for RUSTOM next to a space which was Lokmanya Tilak's room in 1873 and 1876 when he was a student.
Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak is a legendary freedom fighter, an icon whose slogan ‘Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it' became the anthem for young freedom fighters of India and the patriot introduced the ‘sarvajanik ganesh utsav' in Maharashtra. The ‘sarvajanik ganesh utsav' which is now a glorifying identity in Maharshtra's culture was started by Tilak to spread awareness about the freedom struggle in India through plays and dance.
Akshay posted the picture on his social media handle saying, “Revisiting history while shooting for Rustom! Standing outside the room where the great nationalist Lokmanya Tilak lived as a student.”
Sporting a moustache and wearing a navy blue shirt, Akshay looks cool and dapper and anyways whether the movie is about India or not, it's always cool to remember those who gave us ‘freedom' and Akshay teaches us the way how to do that.
