With the craze of biopics making waves in Bollywood, director Anurag Basu has been toying the idea to cash on the popularity of the great singer on silver screen for quite some time starring Ranbir Kapoor but the biopic is lying on back -burner.
Ranbir Kapoor has already declared his unavailability due to his focus on Raju Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Following this, news of Aamir Khan showing interest started floating but nothing substantial on this front has been heard.
Today on the occasion of the iconic Kishore Kumar's 87 birthday, we quipped Amit Kumar, son of Kishore Kumar and asked about his feelings regarding the biopic on his father and if it happens who is best suited for the role.
Amit Kumar replied, “I don't think any actor can justify Baba (Kishore Kumar) on screen because he was such a multitalented actor that I do not think any contemporary actor can come even an inch closer to Baba's versatility”.
True indeed because Kishore Kumar was one of his kind in Bollywood who was not only a genius singer but master of all trades from a lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenplay writer, scriptwriter and above all an exceptional actor.
Even today not a single day passes when songs of this god gifted singer who holds the record of winning maximum Filmfare Awards (8) as Best Male Playback Singer are not played on Radio or TV. Thus though he is not present physically his immortal voice continues to enchant millions of his fans.
‘Gata rahe mera dil'… Literally the voice of Kishore continues to enthrall and infuse the goodness of melody in our soul – Happy Birthday Kishore Da.
