On the occasion of Independence day, Swapnil Mistry, the budding Singer, composer and lyricist, introduced a new version of VANDE MATRAM  sung by famed playback singer Mahalaxmi Iyer.

Trained in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal), Swapnil Mistry's new version of VANDE MATRAM is primarily a tribute to Indian Melody and its rich musical heritage & culture that keeps the patriotic feel intact. The lyrical couplet has been taken from the very popular Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's 1882 novel Anandmath.

The inspiration behind Swapnil Mistry's VANDE MATRAM is his idol A.R. Rahman's whose version of VANDE MATRAM – MAA TUJHE SALAM infuses the spirit of patriotism amongst the listeners. While Rahman's version has its trade mark westernized influence, Swapnil's version is more ‘desi'.
