The new releases of this week, namely, Rajeev Khandelwal and Guahar Khan starrer FEVER, Manoj Bajpayee's BUDHIA SINGH BORN TO RUN, Arshad Warsi venture THE LEGEND OF MICHEAL MISHRA and Monjoy Joy Mukerji Productions' HAI APNA DIL TO AWARA, failed to impress the audience with below 10 percent start (less than 5 percent in some cases!), as predictably DISHOOM continued to be the preferred film for the audience.
Just for records, it was close race between FEVER and BUDHIA SINGH BORN TO RUN and is difficult to chose the front runner. Not surprisingly THE LEGEND OF MICHEAL MISHRA faired well in pockets of Bihar, being based there. With RUSTOM and MOHENJO DARO next Friday, the new releases face a bleak future.
Meanwhile last week's Sajid Nadiadwala's John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nargis Fakhri starrer, DISHOOM, managed a good first week, netting 54 crore during the opening week from India, and is an above average fare for the worldwide distributors, EROS, who have already recovered 27-28 crore of their total investment of 70 crore in DISHOOM via satellite rights. As far as producer Sajid Nadiadwala is concerned, he has already made/ managed table profit (by selling the global rights to EROS) plus the revenue from audio rights has also gone to him!
