The Bollywood handsome who plays the title role of Havildar Ishar Singh, the military commander in the movie, went spiritual on his 40th birthday last Saturday and bowed at the golden temple Amritsar along with the film's producer Rahul Mittra.
The actor was spotted with the producer doing seva at the golden temple.
It seems the historical war epic to be helmed by the maverick Rajkumar Santoshi has enlighten the spiritual spirit in Randeep Hooda who skipped a big surprise bash in Delhi to do seva at the golden temple in Amritsar.
Proving that Randeep is already coming under the grove for the role as the Sikh commander and this seva seems to kick - start his vigorous training that includes sword fighting and shooting with vintage guns.
It is learnt that Randeep will undergo physical training to beef up his body as well. Rahul Mittra, filmmaker & CEO Wave Cinemas shared, “Playing a Sikh warrior in BATTLE OF SARAGARHI, Randeep wanted to usher his 40th birthday at Harmandir sahib & it was a blissful experience doing sewa at the golden temple.”.
BATTLE OF SARAGARHI is the on screen adaptation of the 19th century battle between 12,000 Afghans and a British Indian contingent, which also comprised 21 Sikhs who went on to become the heroes of the mission.
Other details of the film will be announced on the movies mahurat which takes place on September 12.
