Jimmy Sheirgill is known to portray different roles from being serious character to lover boy or the staunch Raja Awasthi in TANU WEDS MANU. Now extending his TWM character, Jimmy is seen in a comical avatar ‘Baagha' whose bride Happy runs away, much like his bride ‘Tanu' who eloped in TANU WEDS MANU. Yet again he deals with runaway bride. In fact now people have started joking about this fact.

Playing an out and out comic character Jimmy shares his tryst with his liking for films; he opens up about his love for Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt as well as his talks about his next film TOM DICK AND HARRY 2 in an interview.

Excerpts of the interview:

JIMMY SHERGILL WALLPAPERS
JIMMY SHERGILL WALLPAPERS

How is Jimmy similar to Baagha or Raja Awasthi?
Jimmy is one of a kind (smiles). I am reserved & reticent but at times I crack jokes, I am serious as well. While Baagha and Raja are totally opposite to each other and Jimmy is nowhere close to Baagha or Raja. I take situations and life as it comes.

Did you prepare for the role?
Yes, we had certain reading. I had put on weight for few roles and now I am back to routine and shed some weight. I understood Baagha's situation and decided to include my inputs as well. I remember while we were rehearsing. We would all start laughing and it took us hours to shoot at times. We loved shooting for HAPPY BHAG JAYEGI as the schedule was in Amritsar, Baga border, and many more good locations.

You once mentioned you won't do slapstick comedy?
I am not too confident about it as of now. I believe every comedy sequence or any role that I portray should have something intriguing. If I find it worthy enough I will do, but I don't prefer slapstick comedy.

You have given hits in Punjab film industry, how different is Bollywood and Punjabi industry?
I do one Punajbi film a year, there the audience is very family oriented. They watch movies with family and the subjects are quite sensitive like land, property day to-day kind off. They get offended very easily. While Bollywood has a huge spectrum to know and judge films, the audience of Marathi and Punjabi industry are super loyal. For that matter when I compare regional industry with our Bollywood industry I feel that South Indian industry is huge and big, the fan following is immense. There is diehard dedication in the industry.

You are paying tribute to Sunny Paaji's role especially his dance, weren't you scared how would he react?
No, I think I haven't mocked him. Baagha is a comic character and how he dances like Sunny is the highlight. While I am huge fan of Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt I love them and have watched all their films. I love their action image and also love the way they have done several roles. I am sure Sunny Deol will like the story as HAPPY BHAAG JAEGI is an honest film.

You are filming TOM DICK AND HARRY 2, how is it different from the first one?
We've just started with the workshop and we are preparing for it. This time this sequel will give an emotional touch to it. As there are three actors and all of them have some or other disability the way we coordinate is important. As I am the only hero repeated I can differentiate between that previous one and the sequel. While I also believe that the music is better than the prequel of TOM DICK AND HARRY. Apart from comedy the movie has pain and one can sympathize with it. It's truly an inspirational film.

Yet again your bride elopes much like in TANU WEDS MANU, what is with your roles every time you don't get the girl?
(Laughs), well, while reading the script and filming it didn't strike me that even in this movie I won't get the girl. Honestly Baagha is very different from what Raja Awasthi was. Baagha is a comical character, he is full of life and Raja was serious and blunt.
