2016 is the year for Bollywood to witness high on content biopics. The year has been showcasing untold stories since the very start.


Bollywood has seen some great biopics like BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG, PAAN SINGH TOMAR and (Priyanka Chopra as) MARY KOM in the past few years and it looks like the huge success of these films have inspired 2016 to become the year of biopics.

Real stories reaching the silver screen is the trend of the year and it looks like the audiences this year will witness stories of unsung heroes that deserve to be told.

From NEERJA to SARBJIT, M.S. DHONI: THE UNTOLD STORY and POORNA, 2016 is the year that unfolds the stories of our unsung heroes.

NEERJA, a film based on the based on the heroic story of Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986, won hearts all over and Sonam Kapoor was loved in the role. More so, this story of courage conquering fear garnered an overwhelming response.

The inspiring film was based on the life of farmer Sarbjit Singh who accidentally crossed the border and entered Pakistan. He was sentenced to capital punishment because he was mistaken to be an Indian spy. Randeep Hooda as SARBJIT touched the hearts of many.

M.S. DHONI: THE UNTOLD STORY, based on the life of the cricket sensation Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has created an audience that is awaiting the release of the film. The recently launched intriguing trailer of the film has been loved by the audiences and has created immense buzz and anticipation for the film. Sushant Singh Rajput looks perfect as Captain cool.

POORNA, the biopic of Poorna Malavath, was about a thirteen year old girl encapsulates the journey of this brave girl to reach the top of Mount Everest. The story itself is very inspiring to miss the film.

With movies like NEERJA, SARBJIT and MS DHONI: THE UNTOLD STORY, POORNA, 2016 has become the year of untold stories.

The year is in for some high on content movies with these biopics!
