The two prominent movies of the week, Hansal Mehta's ALIGARH and the Manish Paul and Pradhuman Singh starrer, TERE BIN LADEN-DEAD OR ALIVE, failed to cut much ice with the audience.
||ALIGARH AND TERE BIN LADEN-DEAD OR ALIVE
As per reports, the two mentioned films saw occupancies of around 10 percent with little or no pick up during the latter shows. Unless and until there is a magical turnaround in the fortunes (read collections) of ALIGARH and TERE BIN LADEN-DEAD OR ALIVE in the next two days, their fate is sealed.
The remaining releases like LOVE SHAGUN, BOLLYWOOD DIARIES etc were even worse.
CHECK OUT: ALIGARH Movie Review
The preferred release of the week, expectedly and predictably turned out to be Sonam Kapoor's NEERJA which netted 35-36 crore during the opening week from India. With tax exemptions in Bombay, Gujarat, UP and Delhi city, NEERJA is all set to be a hit plus, if not more. The icing on the cake is the great overseas performance with US leading the way with gross collections of $765, 000 during the opening week, with more to come.
