Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has dismissed all speculations regarding the remake of Subash Ghai's 1989 blockbuster starring Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor in key roles.

Earlier, a section of media speculated that the much announced remake by Karan Johar is in jeopardy due to DILWALE disappointment. The Red Chillies produced DILWALE starring SRK-Varun Dhawan, that marked the reunion of Kajol with SRK after 5 years, was pitted against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period love saga BAJIRAO MASTANI and the latter walked with most of the accolades from the industry and the public in general.

The much hyped Christmas dhamaaka of last year DILWALE, though earned 350 crore mark worldwide, but SRK was personally disappointed as the movie failed to get positive response from the audience. On the other hand, Bhansali's Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer made the right noise. This triggered speculated debate on rift between SRK and Rohit Shetty and news on both passing the buck on others for the failure started circulating which remained a hot topic for gossip.

The over enthusiastic media people even went ahead and speculated that RAM LAKHAN remake might not happen.

But Rohit Shetty has confirmed that work on the scripting is on. Recently at Zee Cine Awards function the director opened up on the status of his forthcoming projects and reportedly said, “I have two scripts right now. One is GOLMAAL 4, which I think people are waiting for me to start. The other is RAM LAKHAN remake with Karan Johar”.

Though the director didn't put an end to the suspense on its lead cast, which was speculated to be Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and many more, he said, “Both the films are at scripting stage right now. We will start working on them after six months.”

GOLMAAL 4 in all probability will have Ajay Devgn, while there's time for the official announcement on RAM LAKHAN lead.

But most importantly, the remake is on and we believe Rohit Shetty will be ‘car'ing it to the best of his ability.
