Harshvardhan Rane is one handsome hunk who has already impressed many in Telugu, and now with the hot abs, he's entered Bollywood with a bang! His movie SANAM TERI KASAM also starring Mawra Hocane is set to release soon enough and the actor is already in demand with his mentor John wishing him all luck! Well, we had a casual interaction with the actor and got to know him better. So can you...
Here are some excerpts from Harshvarshan's interview:
How different is Telugu cinema from Bollywood?
If 5 years ago, you'd have asked me the same question, I would've had a different answer, but now specially after films like MAKKHI and BAAHUBALI, which was presented by Karan Johar sir, there's such a good exchange happening between Telugu and Bollywood, which is why I don't think there's a difference as such. The equipments for making a movie, the size of theatres and the popcorn are the same. Apart from a few screens here and there, the response of audiences and the smiles you get on the face of audiences is the same. After BAAHUBALI, which was a dubbed film, received 100 crores, we can know that it isn't only us who is talking about the lessened gap, but the public also believes in the same. They have proved that they'll connect to a good emotion – be it Hindi or Telugu.
'Audiences have proved that they'll connect to a good emotion than language'
Does having a Telugu audience help?
Of course. They are the people who have made me whatever I am today. The kind of feedback I get is because they've been seeing me in movies since my day 1. I've grown so much that I can't recognize myself from the first film. I had to correct my own self, nobody did that for me. Luckily, all my films have been playing on TV every week since the last two years. They've seen me fat and in very different characters. They treat me like a family member at times. If you read my social networking page, they speak to me like friends who are very supportive.
What happened with GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA: RAM LEELA?
I was more than happy to be called by Sanjay sir. But whatever happens is for good. If you miss out on something, it's for your betterment. I came for this film when they had already casted somebody else. I still went because of my dream to work with such a director. I haven't worked under star kid. I don't have any name to carry forward or pressure as such. I can do experiments and lose out on some good work. I'm actually very thankful that Sanjay sir could excuse me from there so that I could land up here.
