After Aamir Khan was removed as the brand ambassador of Incredible India Campaign, it was veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan's name which was in the air to replace him. Aamir Khan amid his controversial remark on ‘intolerance' got dragged in a political fight. The announcement to drop his name from the Incredible India Campaign came a few weeks later the controversy. Amitabh Bachchan who is also the ambassador of Tourism Gujarat, was a hot favourite and his name soon propped up to replace Aamir.

However, Big B, has given a statement saying that he hasn't been approached to be the face of Incredible India. Aamir Khan, on the other hand has graciously accepted his ouster from the tourism campaign and issued a statement saying, ' Whether I am brand ambassador or not, India will remain Incredible, and that's the way it should be.'

Interestingly Aamir's contemporary, Shah Rukh Khan was also rumoured to be the next face of the campaign.
