Rajesh Vivek, best remembered for his role as the astrologer in Aamir Khan's LAGAAN, reportedly breathed his last around 3 pm yesterday.
The actor, who worked in Bollywood for over two decades, had a heart attack while he was shooting for a southern film in Hyderabad.
Apart from LAGAAN, Rajesh is known for his role as the postman in Shah Rukh Khan starrer SWADES. First introduced by Shyam Benegal in his film JUNOON (1978), Rajesh, a veteran theatre actor entered the industry as a villain in movies like VEERANA and JOSHILAY. After playing the role of a dreaded dacoit in BANDIT QUEEN (1994), he shifted his focus to doing comic and supporting roles. Some films to his credit from the past decade are - BUNTY AUR BABLI, BHOOT UNKLE, WHAT'S YOUR RASHEE, AGNEEPATH, SON OF SARDAAR, DISHKIYAOON. He was also a well-known name on the small screen because of his presence in TV shows like ‘Mahabharata', ‘Bharat Ek Khoj' and ‘Aghori'.
His last rites will be performed in Mumbai on Friday.
