John Abraham was very proud and confident about DISHOOM when the trailer of this movie launched.
If one remembers, he then quoted, “When I heard the script of DISHOOM, the first thing that I told Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Rohit (Dhawan) was that DISHOOM will go up to DISHOOM 8 because this is a very young, action adventure franchise. Kabir and Junaid (their characters) will find new problems, new issues and move to different places. It's going to be fun. It's a great franchisable film.”
However, as the release of this movie got closer and when he sat for interviews, John in a very serious tone, spoke on the question of DISHOOM turning into a franchise. He said, "I think DISHOOM is a very young franchise, the director is young, his thoughts are young, his projection is young and it's a very contemporary film. I think it's going to fly with the youngsters. So, honestly, out of a couple of films that I think are very franchisable, like FORCE, not because I'm doing it (I'll come to FORCE later), I think DISHOOM is that film that can go into franchise but it's all about the economics. It's about how the film does. So I can sit here and tell you that it should be a franchise, but tomorrow if the film doesn't do well, the producer may not want to make it into a franchise. But I do believe that DISHOOM is a very franchisable film."
"And why I spoke about FORCE 2 is because, just like Sylvester Stallone has his ROCKY, RAMBO and Matt Damon has his Bourne Ultimatum and Arnold Schwarzenegger has his TERMINATOR, John Abraham too has his FORCE," added the actor.
Well, now that John has a condition to DISHOOM 8, is it really because he's nervous about the film or because he's looking at the reality?
