The first week of the month saw the release of Yash Raj Films' Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda starrer, SULTAN, and as expected the film is on the verge of completing it's all time blockbuster run, with a haul of around 300 crore, in the end count.
||SULTAN AND DISHOOM
Post that the Hindi cinema has been thirsting for another hit, with almost half a dozen releases but no success. There has been GREAT GRAND MASTI with Vivek, Riteish and Aftab, the third edition of Indra Kumar's the highly successful MASTI franchise, Irrfan Khan's Nishikant Kamat directed MADAARI, Adhyayan Suman and Sarah Loren starrer ISHQ CLICK, the Imaad Shah venture M CREAM etc., but all have bitten the dust. Interestingly it is just the Hindi dubbed version of Rajnikanth's KABALI which has chances of being termed a success!
However, it seems that Sajid Nadiadwala's Rohit ‘Desi Boyz' Dhawan directed John, Varun, Akshaye, Jacqueline and Nargis starrer, DISHOOM, is likely to change all that.
Thanks to the crisp promotion, a couple of already popular tracks and not to forget Akshay Kumar's super cameo, DISHOOM carries a reasonably good buzz (amongst the cinema frequenting youths) and should provide Bollywood the turbo charge it needs, before the Independence week celebrations with Hrithik' Roshan's MOHENJO DARO and Akshay Kumar's RUSTOM, touch wood!
