Salman Khan's SULTAN strikes the box-office like a tornado!

One didn't have to be a prophet or a soothsayer to have predicted that Yash Raj Films' Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer, SULTAN, was going to embark on a hurricane like opening, as it was quite obvious.

However, the film has surpassed that, striking the box-office like a tornado, and despite the dull pre-Eid day (where films have struggled to touch the 30 crore mark), SULTAN has (in all probabilities) managed to touch the 40 crore mark and may have even crossed it. And if that happens, SULTAN may beat another Salman Khan starrer, PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO, thereby setting the best single day record. As we pen this column (and with the first day data still pouring in) it is yet to be validated.

While that is about the first day, today being the festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr and a national holiday across the country, the collections are expected to hit the roof, if not the sky, and set another record for Salman to beat with his next!
