As per media reports, Ayan's project was shelved due to shortage of finance by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. On the other hand, it was also said that the movie is very much on.

So, when we cleared it with Alia, she said, “That's not true. It's very much on. We will start shooting soon. As of now it's too early to talk about it.”

The two leads are currently busy with their films. Ranbir is working on JAGGA JASOOS and AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL while Alia is busy with Gauri Shinde's next with UDTA PUNJAB. The superhero film might be split into a trilogy by Ayan.

For now, Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in UDTA PUNJAB opposite Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
