Arijit has teamed up with politician Kapil Sibal for the song ‘Tere Bina' for the forthcoming political drama SHORGUL starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Ashutosh Rana.

Kapil Sibal is making his big screen debut as a film lyricist and after 9 months of hard work, the track will be launched on the 4th of June and will feature world class Zitar player Niladri Kumar who also debuts as the co music director with the track.

Originally, Kapil Sibal had penned a Qawali titled 'Tu Hi Tu' for the film but whilst working with good friend Niladri Kumar on another project, Sibal came across Niladri good ear for music and decided to go with ‘Tere Bina' for the promotional track. Arijit was approached and he was kind enough to waiver off his fees and completed the project in a month since he is a huge fan of Kapil Sibal himself.

The track will feature the lead actress of the film, Turkish supermodel Suha Gezen being captured aesthetically in an underwater scene.

Adding a humane touch, the song will have underprivileged girl children accompanying Arijit Singh on the chorus trained by Arjit.

Kapil Sibal states, “'Tere Bina' is a track that will create a long lasting impact and touch many lives. I have spent close to 9 months in developing this track along with Niladri Kumar whose music I'm very fond of. I also convinced him to use his Zitar for the track. I'm also grateful to Arijit Singh for coming on board at such short notice and giving it the right kind of musical treatment. The track is more of a social project that persuades the masses to take a stand on humanity and do whatever it takes to be the torchbearers of change.”

Niladri Kumar states, 'SHORGUL is a project that is very close to my heart because we have given an opportunity to underprivileged children to showcase their musical talent to the world and started the process of ‘be the change you wish to see in the world'. On the lighter side, this is the first time I'll be turning music director for a film and with this track I wanted to reach out to the younger generation by playing out sounds with which they identified better'.

A 24 FPS Films Production, SHORGUL - directed by Jitendra Tiwari & P. Singh and produced by Swatantra Vijay Singh & Vyas Verma is a political drama based on intolerance and aspires to make audiences contemplate on where humanity stands amidst the noise of religious, social, political and economic prejudice. It is inspired by sensitive real-time incidents that shook the foundation of democracy, set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh.
