Bollywood is seeing a lot of Korean remakes and unfortunately most of them (JAZBAA, ROCKY HANDSOME to name a few) haven't really worked.
The recently released love story of a visually challenged woman in love with a fighter, DO LAFZON KI KAHANI, is also a Korean remake of ALWAYS.
Ask the lead actors Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal in an exclusive interview if they were apprehensive about signing the project since Korean remakes haven't worked and Randeep immediately responded, “Because they were bad remakes probably.”
“All the stories have not been very relatable maybe,” said Kajal.
Randeep added to that and said, “This is very relatable. No, every movie is different. This isn't just a Korean movie remake – it's a gross generalization. Depends on who's making it here also na?”
Kajal believes that the emotion of love is universal and it can help the movie. She said, “There are many factors. And besides that, the film is pan universal. Any one can understand the emotion of love.”
Randeep then pointed out why DO LAFZON KI KAHANI is different. “EK VILLAIN, a Korean remake, was also well received. Our movie rates much higher than the remake of that film. It rates around 9.8 which is equal to THE GODFATHER,” he concluded.
