Directed by Nagesh Kuknoor, DHANAK is all set to regale the audience this Friday with its heartwarming story.
The director, who introduced a fresh wave of cinema with HYDERABAD BLUES in 1998 speaks about the inspiration behind his latest DHANAK that won the Crystal Bear - Grand Prix for Best Children's Film, and Special Mention for the Best Feature Film by The Children's Jury for Generation Kplus.
Nagesh said, “When I started writing it, I wanted to remind myself and the audience that there is still goodness left in the world. I wanted to go back to the India I grew up in, where people trusted each other. 'Dhanak' reinforces the belief that in a world full of cynicism, life can have a happy ending”.
Speaking about the challenges faced while filming in Rajasthan, Nagesh shared, “Whenever you shoot in Rajasthan, you realise the landscape is as lethal as it is beautiful. It's dry, hot and sandy - your skin literally sizzles when temperatures soar over 50 degrees. And I had two kids as my lead actors. But they were beyond adorable and a million times better than any adults”.
DHANAK is written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and stars Krrish Chhabria and Hetal Gada as the loveable siblings. The rest of the cast includes Vipin Sharma, Rajiv Laxman and Gulfam Khan amongst others. The film has been produced by Manish Mundra, Nagesh Kukunoor & Elahe Hiptoola.
