Singer Neha Bhasin has recorded songs in many Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi and Marathi. She has sung Bollywood hits like 'Dhunki' from the movie MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN.

In a conversation with Neha, the singer spills some beans about her new single Madhaniya and more.

“Madhaniya is a very traditional folk song which holds a very special place in the Punjabi culture. The song is sung by the family while bidding farewell to the daughter after the marriage ceremony when she leaves her father's home to live with her husband and his family. Back in the day with no communication tool it was a very big step for her and the girl's family.” Says Neha.

She further added, “This moment is called Bidai in Punjabi and it's a sad and tearful moment for the Bride's family as they give their daughter away. This song still holds immense value for Punjabis. My Team and I have recreated this Folk song to an acoustic version using Guitars, violin, chirango, tumbi, and mandolin. Sameer the music director's vision was to use pluck string instruments to give the song the emotional backing it deserves.”

Speaking about the treatment and the atmosphere of the song Neha opines, “This song is a very emotional song for me. I am not married but it's symbolic to me leaving home at 19 and marrying music. I lived away from home and became a pardesi and I missed my mom dad my brother sister and the carefree life I had. The Sari and the entire look of mine also represent beauty of India and its rich heritage.”

We are eagerly waiting to hear this track.
