So the row over Sallu Bhai's statement (the rape analogy) is still not over. After papa dear Salim Khan butting in to offer an apology for his 50 year old ‘boy', still the world is talking.
||SALIM KHAN AND SALMAN KHAN
Seriously, I am surprised and a bit amused by this whole hullabaloo which has given me some ‘kick' of entertainment like Bollywood no brainers and potboilers do.
Salman Khan will be Salman Khan and there is no ‘Vivek' (no not Oberoi baba.. I mean wisdom, intelligence) to expect a solid philosophical, politically correct or researched statement from him like his expert contemporaries – Shah Rukh and Aamir. While SRK gives speeches in international universities, Aamir is known for his studied and researched approach while addressing people in public or in front of media. Even they got it wrong previously.
Anyways, coming back to Salman, yes the remarks are grossly insensitive and Salman Khan needs to be more careful, he has millions of followers.
See the irony, having a legendary script writer Salim Khan as his father our dear Salman Khan ignores him and keeps on making fun of himself by opening his mouth, forcing his father Salim to come to rescue later when things go out of control.
A flash of Madonna's 1986 super hit number ‘Papa Don't Preach' comes to my mind.. Ironically here Papa has to preach again and again. Oh dear!
The netizens started harping their discomfort over Salman's remark.. so guys when did we all check our slangs.. like – Man, the meeting screwed me up, this board meeting is a ‘rape' of my senses, this project will screw us day and night, I got screwed up for the whole day'..
Words like ‘rape', ‘screw' etc are used as a predicament to describe a certain feeling. Are we not guilty in allowing the term to become a slang?. And what about the so called consciousness of the journalist present who giggled in chorus when Salman made the remark, giving him a free pass. Why they didn't stood up to confront the actor on this. Now it is known that immediately in the very next second Salman regretted the statement.
Anyways this hullabaloo won't affect Salman Khan's followers in any way. All will throng to see ‘bhai' in action when SULTAN releases this Eid.
On a lighter note.. Father Salim should stop crying over Salman Khan's statements they will become surreal day by day. Either Salman takes his father's guidance before making a public appearance or statutory warning which we see in cigarette packets, liquor bottles gets displayed as a banner during his public appearance which can make the lovers of JOKER (played by Heath Ledger) from THE DARK KNIGHT happy–‘Why so serious people, what if we have a party tonight”.
